User account

Your user account allows you to keep track of borrowed media, loan periods and personal data. It will be generated by default with your registration in the library.

Login

  • User number: It is displayed on the backside of your thoska (e.g. 0027XXXXXXXX).
  • Password: By default, it is your date of birth (DDMMYYYY). We recommend to change your password after your first login due to safety reasons. 
    Note: Your login data also apply for our self service machines and your interlibrary loan account.

Login issues / password assistance

In case of loss of password please request a new one. You will receive a temporary password which we advise to change subsequently.

If you have questions or need any help, do not hesitate to contact the Central Loan Desk.

Features

Summary of data such as address, e-mail address, user number and duration of membership.

  • Persons affiliated with the University of Jena can update/edit e-mail addresses and library user number at the Central Loan Desk. Any other changes need to be reported to the responsible department.
  • Non-affiliated users are requested to always get in touch with the Central Loan Desk personally.

Please report any changes to the responsible body:

Summary of your current loans including information on loan periods and number of renewals.

You can renew media the following ways:

Every user is allowed to renew items three times before these need to be shown at the desk. A new loan is generally possible. Reserved media have to be returned and cannot be renewed. 

Please contact the interlibrary loan department directly via mail regarding the renewal of interlibrary loans.

  • Summary of all reserved media and requested books from the stack
  • Reservations can be cancelled, opposite to media requests

Summary of all media that can be picked up (including pick-up point).

Summary of all fees which can be paid by thoska at service desks and self service machines.

You can switch from your default password to a personalised one.

Possibility to create a letter of authorisation to authorise another person to borrow media for you and to collect and renew media you have ordered or borrowed.

Create an interlibrary loan account and add interlibrary loan credits to place orders via interlibrary loan.

The interlibrary loan password can be reset or the deletion of the interlibrary loan account can be requested.

Your user account is connected to ThULB-Suche catalogue. This enables users to save the results of past searches and to create favourites lists.
