Interlibrary loan

Media that are not available in ThULB or other libraries in Jena can be requested via the interlibrary loan system. Delivery to the library usually takes around 10 days.

Requirements for interlibrary loans

  1. Registration in ThULB
  2. Creation of interlibrary loan account and acquisition of adding credits (ILL deposit) via user account

Requesting media via interlibrary loan

In case you cannot find your media or articles in ThULB-Suche catalogue you can search for these items in our library union catalogue (GVK). You can order media via GVK after you have logged into your inter library loan account (separate registration needed). If your search in GVK ends without any results, you will still have the possibility to try meta catalogues such as VFL (“Verbundübergreifende Fernleihe”). 

Users can review their requests from the last six months in their interlibrary loan account.

After your request has been placed

The fees for your interlibrary loans can be paid with thoska at our desks and self-service machines. The basic cost is 1,50€ per item.

As soon as your requested media have arrived in the library you will be notified via e-mail. 
Media can be picked up at the Central Loan Desk.

Please ask for renewals by sending an e-mail to the interlibrary loan department or consult the staff at the Central Loan Desk.
