Primarily, our work stations serve as work space for people who intend to use the library stocks within the library building. Registered and unregistered users [LINK Anmeldung] are welcome to use our facilities on-site. We ask students of University of Jena who simply need access to wireless internet to make use of WIFI work stations on the campus.
Work space can be reserved via CARREL software. Bookings for long term study cabins (carrel) are obligatory, whereas work stations, short term study cabins and group workspaces in the open access area can be booked optionally. In case your reserved work space has been occupied by another person please ask him/her to vacate the seat. Showing your reservation confirmation mail is advised.
For a fair distribution of work space please vacate your spot or cancel your reservation when you intend to leave the library for a longer period of mine.

Sitting at a work station for a longer period of time takes its toll on body and mind. With the start of the summer semester 2022, ThULB has installed two treadmill-related work stations called “Walkolution”, so users can walk and study simultaneously.
Generated by your own muscular work, these noiseless treadmills can be adjusted according to your own ergonomic needs. Power sockets for your mobile devices can be found underneath the desks.
Our “Walkolutions” are a donation by University's Student Health Management department with the intent to promote measures for physical and ergonomic activity.
