Update / Change in access authorisation for carrels

02.10.2023

Update from 02.10.2023

The adjustments to the software could be completed successfully, so that from now on the procedure described below takes effect.

Update from 08.09.2023

The remodeling project (see notice dated 01.09.2023) has been completed for the time being.

The individual workrooms (carrels) on level 4 and all group workrooms have been completely converted.

Currently, adjustments are being made to the software, so that there will be restrictions on access to the above-mentioned workrooms in the period from Monday, 11.09. to presumably Monday, 18.09.2023.

Since access via thoska will not yet be possible, keys for the above-mentioned group and individual workrooms booked by you will be issued at the Central Information Desk.

The individual workrooms on levels 1 to 3 will be converted at a later date and can be accessed as usual with thoska from now on.

Starting Monday, 04.09.2023 until probably the end of September, renovation work will be carried out on the carrels (and group study rooms) in the Main Library Building with Branch Library of Arts and Humanities.

During this time, noise disturbances and limited use of the carrels must be expected.

The measure is necessary because the installed technology is no longer up to date and needs to be replaced.

What needs to be considered or what is changing?

Currently, users who have made a room booking can enter the booked room with their thoska during the corresponding booking period.

After the conversion, an intermediate step will be necessary. During the booking period, users will collect the corresponding access rights daily from a so-called "master device".

Where is this "master device" located?

A master unit has already been installed at the central information desk (ground floor). Further devices are planned for the future.

We will inform you here about the progress of the measure and which "type of access" is effective per floor.

If you have any questions, please contact the central information desk on the ground floor.
