Training courses

14.10.2024

Whether you are in your first semester or already in the middle of it, the ThULB offers a range of services and information to provide you with the best possible support for your studies.

In October, various training courses will start again for the winter semester in which we will teach you important basics about using the library, research and academic work.

For first semester students and all interested parties - introductory events

  • Introduction to the services offered by the library, guided tours of the library
  •  weekly in the period from 14 October to 7 November 2024 (duration approx. one hour)
  • Tip for tutors: our training team also offers appointments by arrangement (schulungen_thulb[at]uni-jena.de)

Short lectures on all aspects of academic work - Coffee Lectures

  • interesting topics and helpful tips on scientific work, e.g. on AI, science tracking, scientific publishing, and much more.
  • every Wednesday in the period from 30 October 2024 to 22 January 2025 (duration approx. 30 min)
  • No prior registration necessary

Subject-specific offers

Do you have questions about a specific subject area? Our subject librarians will assist you with researching and selecting relevant literature, help you to use databases and online catalogues and thus support you in efficiently finding and evaluating scientific information, e.g. for term papers. In addition to open training courses (e.g. literature management programmes), they also offer individual consultation appointments.

All dates can be found in our event calendar or in Friedolin.
